Get Ready for More Dust! Maybe?!?

And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Hebrews 11:6&8

Last month we wrote:

We are very close to beginning work in Worship Center, Gray Hall, and office suite. The McKnight Group is in the final stage of securing construction permits, and subcontractors are ready to begin in early February.

As it happens, there were a few things to take care of in response to requests by the City of Westerville. This is complete, and we hope to have a permit in hand soon! Prayers, please!

Temporary Offices for Staff

Staff are getting used to the “open office” environment in the Fireside Room. We find we like each other even more than we thought! We will be using the café seating area for conversations and meetings. Feel free to connect with us by phone (the main system forwards to our cell phones), email, or text.

Currently…

  • The contract for wall graphics in the lobby and hallways is signed. This contract also includes a new street sign.

  • The Worship Center house-lighting installation is underway, and cable runs for the new stage display have been installed. Next time you’re in the Worship Center, turn around and take a look at the back wall of the sound booth – a new, large confidence monitor has been installed – it looks great!

  • Design drawings for new playland and nursery pod check-in stations are being reviewed. We will approve and move ahead soon.

  • Final furniture selections for the lobby, playland, and offices have been made.

  • Electric is installed for a new lobby flat panel to be mounted on the north wall.

  • The temporary baptistery is set up in the lobby and ready to use. Thanks, David Bondurant!

  • It’s worth saying again…We have two sample chairs for Worship Center seating. They are in the back of the Worship Center, gray in color. Please feel free to “have a seat” and check them out! They are much, much lighter and able to be stacked 20 high, making setup and tear down much easier.

  • Our old worship chairs may be going to Ghana for use in ministry! Can you believe it? More to come!

We need help with tree removal!

The second round of tree removal will occur on Saturday, April 22, at 9a. A special thanks to all who helped with the first round. There’s a lot to do to get the remaining trees down, cut, chipped, and stumps ground. Gloves and foot protection are a necessity. Chainsaws and other tools will make the work move along! Please email mark@wcchurch.life to let us know if you plan on helping. A huge SHOUT OUT to Lance Corven for organizing this and making it happen. Thanks, Lance! (He is also clearing out the east property line.)

This is a “God Thing”

Please pray for The McKnight Group and the subcontractors who are anticipating their work to begin soon. Pray specifically for their safety, and that WCC would minister to them.

As Always…

Thanks for giving to the Fearless Campaign. We are well on our way with more than 40% of the pledges given in the first year. God is so good! If you would like more information on how you can contribute, please email mark@wcchurch.life.

Q&A

“Isn’t there going to be something on all these white walls?”

As a matter of fact, yes! We want to make sure it is done well; as mentioned above, there have been some late changes. Thanks for your patience.
