Great Goals, Good News!

And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Hebrews 11:6&8

“Remember when we were all focused on moving forward to build the church and sacrificially give towards reaching Gen Z, updating our facilities, and improving our online experience? We are still moving towards these great goals…”

That was the first line of our first Fearless blog in January 2022, and we are still moving toward these great goals! I am deeply thankful for the commitment of Westerville Christian Church and the continued sacrificial giving from faithful believers. Together, we can make great things happen as we allow God to work through us. YOU are making a difference!

Good news! We will be moving into the offices and WCCarehouse very soon, perhaps within three to four weeks. It’s getting close! All of our projects called the Fearless Campaign, will help us speak of the reassuring hope that is ours and for everyone who claims Christ as Savior!

Along with abundant pledges, more than $102,000 has been received in unpledged gifts! Here’s the update:

Total Pledged: $2,664,662.19

Total Given: $1,544,369.19

Updated exterior colors and updated canopy.

New outdoor playground provided by SPARK Preschool

Exterior

The main south entrance is sporting a revitalized canopy and it looks great with the new colors on the building. We have been working with Westerville zoning officials to develop and implement a plan to upgrade the landscaping. Lance Corven was instrumental in leading a team to remove our less-than-desirable “overgrowth” on the east and west property lines. Fresh trees and shrubs are now growing in these two areas along with new trees and shrubs in the parking lot islands. We also have a new playground thanks to SPARK Preschool, and it is beautiful! Lance also upgraded the “red shed” by the playground – THANKS LANCE! A new monument sign at our main entrance has been approved by the city and will soon be manufactured and installed.

Updated Exterior Shed

Worship Center

New chairs for the Worship Center and Fireside Room! We are blessed with new chairs that are comfortable AND easy to set up, tear down, and stack! They are scheduled to be delivered this coming week. Our old chairs are going to the Guinzburg Foundation in Ghana, Africa which provides supplies to medical facilities in the Ghana area! Our own Joyce Asante is constructing a medical facility in Ghana that will operate as a mission as part of the Guinzberg Foundation. Joyce will be shipping our chairs to be used in this facility and what is not needed will be donated to area schools. Thank you, Joyce!

The video wall is in and what a change to our worship experience! This is a substantial improvement in our ability to present graphics and images during worship services. Upgraded stage lighting and house lighting help us see and improve our online presentation which will soon take place through the new video broadcast studio located behind the sound booth. We anticipate the new sound system to be installed in November (waiting on equipment deliveries).
