Joining a WCGroup might be the best decision you make in 2022!

I hope you had a great break at the end of 2021, I sure did. We had family in town, my kids had a blast with their cousins, and way too much food was consumed.

As great as it was, we did have a scary but fun experience.

My boys, Isaac and Greyson, have wanted to go to Field House USA for months. Inside the sports complex at Polaris Mall is an Adventure Area that has climbing walls and a high ropes course. The boys were excited and a little scared, but they harnessed up, and off they went.

My son Isaac is not a fan of heights. He almost backed out but at the last minute, he decided to give it a try. He made it about halfway and the height got the best of him, he had to come down. While that was a little embarrassing and some tears were shed, I was so proud of him for giving this a try even though heights were a fear.

Let’s face it, trying new things can be scary. Trying new things can also be rewarding and a way to grow. As we seek to Gather, Grow, Give, and Go there are opportunities for us to try new things even though they can be scary or intimidating. Take Grow for example, what if growing in a new small group in 2022 is where you take your first step? Maybe you Grow by leading a group? I believe 2022 is a critical year when it comes to relationships and joining a WCGroup is the perfect place to start.

We need each other and we need to connect in smaller circles, not just a large group gathering.

In the months of January and February, we have some great opportunities to Grow in a group. We have the perfect place for you to see what groups you can connect with and stay connected to everything happening at Westerville Christian Church. Visit www.wcchurch.info (you’re here now!) and click on groups. This takes you to the WCGroups page where you will see a link to view groups. We’ve created a clear listing of all our groups and experiences complete with descriptions and group leader contact info. We want this to be a simple way for you to find details about groups and get involved.

On Sundays during the month of January in the main lobby, you will find me and some of our group leaders at the WCGroups information table.

If you have any questions, want to sign up for a group, are looking to sign up for the Starting Point Lunch Experience, or just want to come to say hi, meet us at the table and let’s talk! You can also email me at david@wcchurch.life for more information.

The easy thing is to do nothing at all, the scary thing is to try something new like a group. It’s ok if it’s scary. Getting connected to new friends at WCC could be one of the best decisions you make in 2022 and it’s only January!
