What Drives Faithfulness?

Daniel Week 2 Personal Study Blog
Based on the
September 18 message by Greg Bondurant

God is mysterious. He often reveals his will through visions and dreams.

Your first question for today. What do you find mysterious about God? (Take a minute to write this out and list what you like and dislike.)

Before you dig any further into this study. Greg and I have a RightNow Media tool that will help you study the book of Daniel. If you don’t have a login to RightNow Media, click here to create a free account, then watch the video linked below.

Tim Mackie “How to Read Daniel”

How did this teaching from Tim Mackie help you with your reading of the book of Daniel? Can you apply these tips to other books of the bible?

Re-read Daniel 1 and 2 again using the tools you learned from Tim Mackie.

Answer these questions...

  1. Why did God use a dream that had to be interpreted in a miraculous way to get King Nebuchadnezzar’s attention? What changed because of this?

  2. How do you know that God has Daniel and his friend’s best interest in mind after reading Daniel 1 and 2. How do you see God caring for them?

  3. Read Daniel 2: 17-23 again. At first, Daniel did not know the dream’s meaning. What was his first action taken before the dream’s meaning was revealed to him? What can we learn about taking things to God and trusting that he will provide?

  4. How do we know that God is all Daniel needs and enough for him?

Prayer: Ask God to give you a prayer life that seeks him first in all things. Ask God to give your faith boldness to believe that he will provide in every and all circumstances.

When God brings judgment on one person, it often leads to suffering for other people.
