Lobby
Ok. There have been many questions about the lobby's concrete finish. All I can say is, “If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again!” The second round of concrete grinding, staining, and polishing will begin Monday, August 8, and hopefully, be complete within two weeks. Please pray for our crews as they begin work and pray for a great finish! Continental Flooring is our subcontractor on the job, they are covering all the costs for this second application. Once the lobby flooring is complete, lobby painting will follow with a touch-up and a final coat.
New tables have arrived in the lobby, and they are beautiful! Dark walnut café tables and a new parsons table for the Connect Center. Wow!

WCKids
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring continues to be installed in the WCKids areas, including Orange Hall and Fellowship Hall. The WCKids restrooms (originally built in 1972 and have never been remodeled!) have been gutted, and new flooring going in. New partitions are ordered as well as plumbing fixtures. There is still painting to finish up in this area as well. The next steps include carpet in the nursery classrooms and LVT in the adjoining hall.

Painting is pretty much complete, and LVT flooring will soon be installed. I am looking for a subcontractor to refinish the check-in station.

In the hallway itself, what is affectionately known as the “roly-poly carpet” has been removed, and new LVT flooring is installed. What a change!
Worship Center, WCCares, Counseling Center
Architectural/Engineering contracts are signed with The McKnight Group, and we are underway. This work will include the Worship Center platform remodel, changing the Gray Hall into the WCCares Operations space, and remodeling the office suite to accommodate four classrooms and our counseling center. We anticipate submitting for construction permits in October and hopefully being under construction in early 2023.
I deeply appreciate your prayers and encouraging words. Updating a 52,000-square-foot facility takes time, energy, dollars, patience, and fortitude! Change is hard, but God is good. Let’s praise Him as we walk this path together. Your financial contributions are making a difference for the Kingdom!
