Over 25,000 Meals Provided Through Friday Fare

As the 2021-2022 School year comes to a close, and I pause for a moment to reflect, it has truly been a fantastic year.

I am so grateful to each of you for your generosity, your prayers, and your involvement in Friday Fare. Because of you, we were able to provide 26,384 meals to families in Westerville this year.

Our amazing volunteers never missed a beat as the food was brought in, stored away, packed to go out, and delivered to Friday Fare to families in our local schools. This year, kids in eighteen schools across the district were impacted by our Friday Fare ministry.  God is good, and we have so much to be thankful for!

The need doesn’t stop though when the school year ends.

In the summer, when children have no access to meals at school, families face an increased level of food insecurity and hunger. This summer, our friends at the Mid-Ohio food collective tell us they are anticipating a historic community need—all while battling supply chain issues and inflation.

The Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) is providing help and hope to local families by hosting its Kids Lunch Club (KLC) at sixteen different sites across the city and beyond. All children ages 1-18 are welcome.  If you know of a family in need, a list of locations and times can be found at Kids Lunch Club. Please pray for WARM, their volunteers, and their impact on families this summer.

The Wardrobe will be visiting different KLC sites throughout the summer to provide clothing, socks, and underwear.

If you would like to help by sorting and storing donations, or by accompanying the truck on outings, please reach out to tracy@wcchurch.life. If you have clothing to donate (especially kids size 6-12), please drop them off at the bins in the lobby. Click here to review our donation guidelines.
