To Them, For Us: Weeks 4 & 5
Daniel weeks 4 and 5 Personal study blog
Based on Sunday, October 2 and 9 messages by Greg Bondurant
Pride. Really David? That’s what you want to bring up with me today? Yes. Yes, I do. Only because I need to hear this just as much as you do. So, let’s jump in.
This blog will cover two messages, both on the topic of pride. Especially pride with those who are in charge. (Remember, God is always in charge)
Read Daniel 4 and 5 from start to finish.
Questions for you to explore:
Please be as honest as you can with yourself in this private moment. How is pride affecting you and your relationship with God/Jesus? Take time and write that out.
In Daniel 4, we see the pride of King Neb once again. Read vs. 25-30 again. His pride once again causes his life to be changed completely. How has pride changed your life?
How did King Neb find restoration? Read vs. 34-37 again. In an action, he praised God. What do you need to do to be restored with God if pride has a grip on your heart? Whatever you need to do, start now.
In Daniel 5:20, we see a powerful verse about a new King but the same result. Read that now. How is your heart? Is it arrogant and hardened, or is it open to Jesus?
King Belshazzar is in charge now. Quickly defiles objects of God, and the writing appears on the wall. As you read chapter 5, imagine what God might write on your wall. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Now, imagine what you want God to write on your heart. What do you want to do for God with your life?
Prayer: Ask God to protect your heart against pride. Ask God to give you a Kingdom vision to do great things for God as Daniel has done. Ask for faith like Daniel.
