We have updates on the Fearless Building Project!

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Hebrews 11:6

What a change!

Exterior of building painted.

The exterior looks fantastic. Wow! We are continuing to receive compliments on the change in color and how fresh and clean the building looks. There are a couple more steps before the exterior is complete – the entrances will receive more of the dark color up high, along with signage such as our logo and the “W” medallion.  We want our entrances to be clearly distinguishable.

Currently…

Carpet removed from stairways to allow for painting.

  • Flooring is being installed in the baptistery changing areas, family restroom, and Arena green room.

  • The carpet has been removed from 6 stairways in the building so the painters can paint the stringers and handrails, which makes way for the new stair treads to be installed.

  • Drywall repair in the lobby will take place soon, allowing the base to be finished.

  • In the next few weeks, many of our less-than-desirable trees will be removed under the direction of our own Lance Corven. Several of our guys will join Lance to help cut, chip, grind and remove the debris. A special thanks to everyone who is helping!

  • Quotes are being secured for furniture and signage.

  • And, The McKnight Group is progressing in their work…..

Worship Center, WCCares, Counseling Center…

The McKnight Group will also oversee the construction of this work - the Worship Center platform remodel, changing the Gray Hall into the WCCares Operations space, and remodeling the office suite to accommodate 4 classrooms and our counseling center.

The “Building Team” of Chad Biniker, Tracy Rush, Greg Bondurant, Todd Schlaegel, Danny Carder, and Mark Siebert have met with The McKnight Group in the last six weeks to review progress, answer questions, and make decisions. Architectural/Engineering drawings for the second stage of our project are on track to be submitted to the City of Westerville on October 13 for review and permits. Prayerfully, we hope and expect to begin construction early in 2023.  Please pray for The McKnight Group and the subcontractors who will be hired to do the work!

Thanks for giving! Your financial contributions are making a huge difference for Kingdom work at WCC!

Q&A

“Won’t the concrete floor in the lobby be slippery when snow arrives?”

The concrete is finished with a non-slip surface to help prevent accidental falls. Additional “walk-off” mats will be provided during the winter months to allow as much snow and water to be removed from shoes as possible. Additional measures will be taken as needed.
