We Thank God for Team WCKids!

It takes about 125 adults and students to lead the Sunday morning programming for the kids of Westerville Christian Church. 

Every week this team comes together to serve Jesus by teaching, leading, and loving babies, preschoolers, elementary students, and preteens. They’re dedicated to teaching God’s Word and passionate about demonstrating the love of Jesus. We’re so grateful for each one of them.

We want to show Team WCKids that we appreciate them by creating a culture of connection and community.

In October, we invited all those who serve in WCKids and their families to an after-church hot dog roast and family kickball game.  Everyone brought food to share, and after lunch, we all headed out to the field for some friendly and fun competition. No frills, nothing fancy, just people united through serving in WCKids, coming together to eat and play for a couple of hours.

In November, we hosted Friendsgiving and Glow in the Dark Dodgeball. Around 80 of our WCKids volunteers brought food to share lunch together after church. People decorated white t-shirts with highlighters to wear for glow-in-the-dark dodgeball in the Arena after lunch. It was quite the competition!

Seeing all ages of kids and adults coming together for food, fellowship and fun show us that these events are important to the culture of Team WCKids. 

Our volunteers crave connection outside of the Sunday morning experience. By offering these after-church events that include the whole family, not only are we showing our appreciation for their service to WCC’s kids, we’re giving them an opportunity to go deeper with those who serve alongside them. That will make for a stronger team!

Our next Team WCKids event will be Everybody’s Birthday Party in January.  We’ll have pizza, cake, and a giant dance party!
